Welcome Almond to the family! Almond is a a brood for Guiding Eyes. She was born April 14th, 2013. I decided that I wanted to foster a dog and I fell in love with Almond. She has settled in wonderfully into my home with Edlyn and Lucky! I can't wait for this little girl to go into heat and get bred!! Yay for grandpuppies!! :D

Decorating already?!

Growing up my Mom always made me wait to decorate for Christmas until the 2nd week or so of Christmas and then we couldn't put the tree up until a few days before Christmas. It was torture, pure torture I tell you! Just kidding, I do think that it always made Christmas that much more exciting and special because we waited so long to decorate, but..... Now that I'm out on my own... I just couldn't help myself and decorated last night. That's right.... the night before Thanksgiving! I had fun decorating on my own, listening to some WOW Christmas music, and trying not to trip over Edlyn and Lucky who thought it would be best o lay right in the middle of everything. Well, here are the pictures of my decorations, but as I'm writing this I realized I forgot to put out my manger scene! I better get on that tonight when I get back from work!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Psalm 100
A Psalm of Praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God; it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

I am so very thankful for so many things. Here is a list of just a few things

1. I'm thankful my faith in Jesus Christ, He is there at all times for me and I can always cry out to Him for help.
2. I'm thankful to my Mom who showed me and taught me every day of my life about Jesus.
3. I'm thankful for my Mom! I'm sure it wasn't always easy being a mother, but she did a darn good job at it.
4. I'm thankful for my three older siblings, we didn't always see eye to eye (I'm sure I was an annoying little sister...), but they are the ones I could count on to make me laugh and always have a friend to do something fun with.
6. I am thankful for ALL of my family. They may be crazy, but they are wonderful.
7. I'm thankful for my friends. Old ones and new ones. I have been blessed to have such wonderful friendships and now that I'm an adult I've learned to cherish my time I get to spend with my friends because I know it won't happen as often anymore.
7. Finally, I am thankful for all of my animals, and for the opportunity to be able to be a puppy raiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Guiding Eyes has given me an opportunity to put love and time into a puppy to then give back to them so they can train the pup to be a guide dog for someone who really needs it, and now because of my puppy raising I was able to find my true love and true calling and found my new career as an employee for Guiding Eyes.

I'm thankful for all of these things today, and every day, have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

All settled in!

We'll I've moved out of my home town and settled down in my new home! It's been a whirlwind of a week+ (well really a month!), but both my pups and I are adjusting well! :) I've already found a church and I've attended two Sunday evening services. It.was.wonderful! I have to say it was BEYOND wonderful, the service was great, the worship time was awesome, and the people were super nice and very welcoming. I've also been connected with a small group that meets on Wednesday nights!

Last night at the service we were talking about God's Love and how we choose to come to church not because we have to, but because it's a CHOICE and that we choose it because God loves us, but we also love Him. Growing up in a Christian home and always being around Christian's I sometimes have a hard time figuring out how to interact with others who don't necessarily believe the same things I do. I especially have a hard time figuring out how to explain to them that being a Christian isn't a set of rules or do's and do not's or can's and can not's, it is about a relationship with Jesus Christ and that I CHOOSE to love Him, read His word, and attend church regularly. It's about a relationship that I have with Him because I love Him dearly. I try to live my life so that I can show others through actions that I am a believer and not just by words, because I believe actions always speak louder then words. One verse we read was Romans 5:8 "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." If that isn't a testament or action of love, I don't know what is!

Until next time,

Beth

P.S. Here's an adorable picture of what I get to see every day. ;)

New Life, New Beginnings, Trusting God All The Way

Hello! :) I decided to start up this blog for several reasons.
- to keep my friends and family back home up to date on things and how I'm doing.
- because I do love to write and miss my English classes in high school. ;)
- but mainly I just want this for me as well, kind of like a journal. I'm sure while I'm starting out a new career, life, and joining a new church I will be growing not only emotionally, but also spiritually and hopefully drawing closer to God to help me through all these changes.

I am beyond excited for this new adventure, I just can't believe my dream come true of working for Guiding Eyes for the Blind permanently is actually coming true! I mean how many 21 year olds can say that they are going to be doing what they have dreamed of doing since they were 14?! I am also so, SO very thankful that God has provided this opportunity for me.

In just a little over a week and a half I will be packing up and moving out of the small, rural, town I've called my home since I was a year old. I will miss life in a town where you drive past apple orchards practically on every road you drive down, run into people that I know everywhere I go, and have all my family and friends so close by. But I look forward to moving to a new town where I can meet even more people, enjoy all the wonderful hiking paths they have, and have the benefit of a short 1.5 hour train ride right into New York City! I will be putting so much trust in God and know that He will help me through everything life will through at me. These verses are some of my favorites and some that I was reading in my Bible reading today. :)

Proverbs 3:5 & 6

Trust in the Lord with all you heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Until next time,
Beth
